Sage ("the App", "we", "us") is a mindfulness-focused Pomodoro timer developed by the Sage development team. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using Sage, you agree to the practices described here.
Most of Sage works fully offline. The following is stored locally in an on-device SQLite database and never leaves your phone unless described in a later section:
We cannot access this data, and it is deleted automatically if you uninstall the App or clear its storage.
If you view or take part in the global Focus Leaderboard, the App creates a random, device-generated identifier (not tied to your name, email, or Google account) and sends the following to Firebase Realtime Database, hosted by Google:

A custom player name is visible to anyone who views the leaderboard, so please do not use your real name or other identifying information unless you intend it to be public. Leaderboard participation is optional; the timer itself works without it.
Social features (friends, challenges, and your chosen display name) are backed by Supabase. When you use these features, the App automatically creates an anonymous account — no email address, password, or sign-up form is involved. This account is identified only by a randomly generated ID stored securely on your device.
Uninstalling the App or clearing app data effectively ends this anonymous account; a fresh install creates a new one with no memory of the old one.
We use analytics to understand how the App is used and to fix bugs. This includes:
Analytics data is used in aggregate to improve the App and is never sold.
Premium features in Sage are unlocked by watching optional rewarded video ads instead of paying. Banner and interstitial ads may also be shown. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may collect device identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID), approximate location, and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads, subject to Google's Privacy Policy. You can manage ad personalization in your device's Google Settings ("Ads" → "Opt out of Ads Personalization").
The optional one-time "Go Premium" purchase is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. Sage never sees or stores your payment details (card numbers, billing address, etc.) — only Google's confirmation that a purchase was made, so the App can unlock the corresponding features.

Locally stored data (Section 1) is removed when you uninstall the App. Leaderboard and social/analytics data (Sections 2–4) are retained on our servers only for as long as needed to provide these features. To request deletion of your leaderboard entry, anonymous account, or associated data, contact us using the details below with your leaderboard/display name and, if possible, the approximate date you started using the App — we will remove the corresponding records.
Sage is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
We use reasonable technical measures — such as anonymous identifiers instead of personal accounts, and secure on-device storage for authentication tokens — to protect the data described above. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
